- Cohabitation
- Keep them singly. Snakes are solitary and do not seek company — a shared hide is competition for the best spot, not social behaviour. The concrete reason is the feeding accident: if two animals grab the same food item, one can swallow the other along with it. On top of that, once they are kept together you can no longer tell which animal has eaten and which is losing weight. For breeding, put them together under supervision and separate them again afterwards.
Notes
A slender, day-active tree snake from montane forest. It is sensitive to stress and a fussy feeder — sustained temperatures above 29 °C and too little cover are the most common mistakes. Watch out when buying: animals sold as Gonyosoma prasinum are often G. coeruleum, as the populations from Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and much of China have been treated as a separate species since 2021. For breeding that matters. Captive-bred animals are clearly preferable to wild-caught ones.
