- New Caledonia
- Protection status
- Check the CITES appendix (New Caledonian species), export prohibited – captive-bred animals only

- Cohabitation
- Keep them singly. Sarasin's giant geckos are markedly territorial and fight over perches and food — considerably more than crested geckos. Two males must never be kept together. A pair only works as a deliberate breeding project under close observation, in a larger enclosure with several feeding spots and hides; separate immediately in case of bites or if one animal loses weight.
Notes
It is kept like a crested gecko, but grows larger and is more agile. It tolerates no permanent warmth above 28 °C.
